Welcome to The District Nashville
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the families and business that have been affected by the historic flooding here in Nashville and the surrounding areas. Many business and residents on Second Avenue, Broadway and Third Avenue South are cleaning up as the Cumberland river recedes. The Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Country Music Hall of Fame, Encore, Pinnacle and the Bridgestone Arena are all pumping out water and starting the clean up process as well. Hopefully, it won't be long before everyone affected is able to get power back on and get back in business.
Fortunately, most of the honky-tonks on Lower Broadway, the historic Ryman Auditorium and most buildings on the North side of Broadway and Printers Alley have power and are in business. The Opry, which took place at War Memorial Auditorium for the first time in nearly 70 years this past Tuesday, will be at the Ryman this weekend as the Opry House deals with major flooding. Area garages on Commerce Street are open and routes to get downtown are clear. The downtown police precinct has done an outstanding job monitoring the situation, opening up all downtown streets as quickly as possible. Most of the construction and traffic issues at this point are a result of the ongoing water main replacement project and not the flood.
Music is still being made everyday in the historic heartbeat of music city. Please come join us if you can!
The DISTRICT is a private 501 ( c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to economic and community revitalization of three historic districts and their contiguous areas in downtown
